Sandra Chapman

Sandra is a full-time professional artist whose artistic style may best be described as contemporary impressionist. She loves to paint in oils, on a larger scale, using bold color and dramatic composition.

Sandra finds inspiration for her paintings in the beauty and diversity of the natural landscape. She is intrigued by relationships she observes in nature and her paintings reflect this. She explains, “When I look at trees, I see not only the trees but the spaces between them and the way they relate to one another. To me, nature appears to mirror universally experienced human emotions such as joy, solitude, connection and sometimes disconnection.” Sandra attempts to reflect the essence of these relationships in her paintings.

Her deep appreciation for variety in landscape and culture has inspired Sandra to travel near and far to explore the world around her. Spending time in various parts of Mexico and the Baja captured her imagination and inspired her to return for lengthier periods to explore the spirit of Mexico through her paintings.
